Site Description : Niagara Health – Fort Erie Complex and Urgent Care Centre is a state‑of‑the‑art healthcare facility offering advanced, patient‑centered care. It features specialized services in emergency medicine, critical care, surgery, mental health, and women’s and children’s health.

Position : Full‑Time Security Guard

Site : Niagara Health - Fort Erie Complex and Urgent Care Centre, 230 Bertie St, Fort Erie, ON L2A 1Z5

Hours : Continental Nights (2000‑0800 hrs)

Payrate : $19.04 / hr. to $21.42 / hr. "based on levelling system"

Averaging Agreement : Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.
• Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.
• Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorised individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.
• Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats, and assist hospital staff during crises and evacuations.
• Greeting and assisting visitors, patients and hospital staff; provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
• De‑escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.
• Document daily activities, incidents or accidents accurately; complete reports on incidents, breaches and security concerns.
• Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.
• Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed and address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards.

Prerequisites

Please be aware : the UOF / MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre‑employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all costs of the training with a six‑month commitment to the position / availability.
