We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented teacher of Secondary School Visual and Media Arts to develop a highly creative program that will engage students to think critically and produce works for public display. The individual will deliver on a vision of Art with a focus on creativity, studio practice and portfolio development. This may involve, but is not limited to, Visual Arts classes, studio work and multimedia productions.
Position Requirements :
A demonstrated ability to differentiate instructional practices for a diverse community
The ability to enhance learning through technology in an Apple laptop environment
Proficiency with techniques and methods such as drawing, painting, and / or other forms of artistic expression
A passion for teaching and a familiarity with best practices for boys
A commitment to the co-curricular life of the school
Experience producing authentic learning experiences in Visual and Media Arts
A commitment to work collaboratively with integrating the Performing Arts.
Work and Educational Experience :
A comprehensive Art background at the secondary level
Strong interpersonal skills and / or demonstrated leadership working with colleagues
Bachelor of Education in good standing eligible with the Ontario College of Teachers
Relevant teaching experience.
