Job descriptionManage monthly closing activities with accuracy and timeliness. Resolve issues impacting month-end close and communicate results to stakeholders. Prepare internal and external reports for business units, corporate consolidation, and tax authorities. Participate in end-to-end projects, including requirements gathering, testing, and implementation. Drive process improvements and automation in collaboration with Finance, Operations, and IT. Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and opportunities for optimization. Strong compensation package including bonus, company-paid benefits from Day 1, company pension, paid vacation & personal days, CPA dues, PD and tuition reimbursement. Hybrid work arrangement. Certification : CPA designation or actively pursuing. Experience : Minimum 3 years in accounting (manufacturing environment preferred). Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and processes (Fixed Assets & Cost Accounting an asset). Month-end close and financial statement preparation experience. Proficiency in SAP, Cognos, and MS Office (Excel expertise required). Skills : S : trong analytical, organizational, and time management skills. Hands-on knowledge of IFRS accounting standards. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs. Collaborative team player with resilience and problem-solving mindset. Other : Experience with SLAs, KPIs, and shared services processes (Record to Report, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay).
Our client is a global publicly traded manufacturing company. As a result of exciting growth, they are adding a new position to the Canadian Finance Team. As Junior Accounting Manager , you will play a key role in managing accounting activities for North American business entities. Reporting to the NA Manager, your responsibilities will include :
General Accounting
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities : journal entries, provisions, general ledger maintenance, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
- Act as liaison between NA Business Units, Shared Services, and Corporate functions.
- Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis for balance sheet and P& L accounts.
- Prepare financial statements and support internal / external audits.
- Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and maintain internal controls.
- Oversee accounting processes performed by external partners for accuracy.
- Support tax reporting and provide financial data as required.
