Journeyman Mobile Off-Highway Mechanic

We are looking for a Journeyman Mobile Off-Highway Mechanic to join our Summit Truck & Equipment Repair team in the West Kootenays, just a 30 minute commute from Castlegar, BC.     • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform repairs on off highway heavy duty equipment, both at the shop and in the field.
  • Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques.
  • Other mechanical repair work as required on commercial transport trucks if required.
  • Maintain company service truck, ensuring it is kept clean and in good repair.
  • Train and mentor apprentices.
  • Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances.

    • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

    As a member of the Summit team, we expect you bring the following to the table :

  • Experience in Heavy Duty Off-Road Equipment repairs.
  • Field experience and ability to work independently unsupervised.
  • Red Seal Journeyman mechanic ticket
  • Experience in logging and forestry heavy equipment repairs
  • Class 5 driver's licence with and clean abstract (class 1 or 3 an asset)
  • Must have a full set of tooling, suitable for heavy equipment repairs.
  • Positive attitude and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong safety mindset
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workflow in an efficient manner.
  • Team player who can share his knowledge by teaching and coaching junior workers.
