Ontario Health’s North West Region is seeking a strategic, collaborative Consultant, Strategy and Planning to help shape and advance regional health system priorities. Working within the System Strategy, Planning, Design and Implementation team, this role supports the design and implementation of initiatives that improve access, integration, partnerships, and outcomes across the health system.
The Consultant will lead high-impact strategic projects, engage diverse partners, interpret data to inform targeted interventions, and support measurable improvements in system performance. This is an opportunity to influence regional priorities, strengthen partnerships with providers and communities, and contribute to meaningful health system transformation
Here is what you will be doing:
Lead regional strategy, planning, design, implementation, and evaluation initiatives that advance Ontario Health and Ministry priorities in the North West Region.
Drive complex, cross-sector projects related to system integration, Ontario Health Team development, access to services, system pressures, and strategic partnerships.
Facilitate meaningful engagement with health service providers, physicians, patients, caregivers, Indigenous and Francophone partners, internal teams, and Ministry stakeholders to support co-designed solutions.
Analyze data, identify service gaps and risks, develop targeted interventions, and establish performance measures to evaluate impact and support continuous improvement.
Build and sustain trusted relationships with internal and external partners to enable collaboration, integration, and system-level change.
Provide subject matter expertise on key areas of the health system and identify opportunities to optimize programs, partnerships, policy levers, and service delivery models.
Collaborate across Digital, Analytics, Clinical, Performance, Finance, and regional teams to align strategy with evidence, funding opportunities, and organizational priorities.
Develop strategic communications and tailored messaging to support transformation, partnership alignment, and stakeholder engagement.
Represent Ontario Health on committees and working groups, applying political acuity, negotiation, and consensus-building skills to advance shared regional priorities.
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience
Master’s Degree, Health Discipline, Health Policy, or Health Admin or equivalent education/experience
Eight years progressive Healthcare Management experience at a senior level required
Experience building relationships and partnerships related to health system integration
Strong and innovative health care leader with a track record in provincial health system integration and successful track record of executing on a range of initiative and inspiring system level change
Exceptional relationship developer, capable of inspiring teams and working with organization partners to facilitate change while fostering a culture of creativity and innovation
Strong existing relationships across both the healthcare industry and the provincial government.
Strong project management experience, including demonstrated ability to efficiently plan, organize and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously with limited supervision or direction
Demonstrates broad and comprehensive knowledge of theories, concepts, practices, and policies in the area of transformation and engagement; with the ability to apply them in complex and/or unprecedented situations across multiple functional areas
Outstanding integrity, initiative, creativity, and passion
Proficiency in dealing with technology, strategies, and tactics
Strong record demonstrating a high degree of judgment, integrity and diplomacy while protecting the confidentiality of information
Ability to effectively collaborate with and carry out the vision and direction of the Vice President
Proven ability to collaborate across functional lines of responsibility, lead large internal/external project teams and build consensus where results have implications for change management
Ability to work in an independent and self-directed manner while taking accountability for own actions.
Ability to lead operational initiatives to meet or exceed customer service standards and expectations in assigned area and/or across multiple areas, in a timely and respectful manner
