Job description
We are seeking a Senior Mobile Test Automation Developer to join a prominent organization in the digital and financial services sector in Montreal. Integrated into a dedicated native mobile development pod, you will work hand-in-hand with software engineers and QA specialists. Your core mission is to architect, build, and sustain resilient test automation structures, while occasionally supporting manual QA efforts to safeguard the performance, dependability, and scale of our mobile products.

Advantages
Flexible Framework: Hybrid work model designed to foster an optimal work-life balance.

Competitive Package: Top-tier salary accompanied by a comprehensive corporate benefits program.

Modern Tech Stack: Opportunity to utilize state-of-the-art tools within a culture that champions continuous tech evolution.

Career Progression: Collaborative atmosphere offering substantial professional growth and technical mentorship opportunities.

Responsibilities
Script Development: Author, refine, and sustain automated testing suites utilizing Java and Kotlin.

Strategic Ownership: Advance and champion the mobile automated testing roadmap, focusing on maximizing coverage, accuracy, and deployment speed.

Framework Architecture: Optimize test automation frameworks (such as Appium) and seamlessly embed them into CI/CD workflows.

Device Management: Orchestrate test runs across a wide spectrum of operating system versions and hardware configurations using both physical devices and emulators/simulators.

Root Cause Analysis: Evaluate test outcomes, debug system anomalies, pinpoint defects, and liaise with developers to implement swift resolutions.

Quality Documentation: Author comprehensive test strategies, validation scripts, execution summaries, and standardized automation protocols.

Technical Mentorship: Drive engineering excellence by leading peer code reviews, mentoring junior staff, and establishing industry best practices for quality engineering.

Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of hands-on software quality engineering experience, specifically focused on test automation for mobile environments.

Demonstrated history of successfully validating native mobile applications (iOS and Android).

Strong coding proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin.

In-depth, practical knowledge of mobile test frameworks, with a heavy emphasis on Appium.

Familiarity with continuous integration tools tailored for mobile builds (e.g., Bitrise, GitHub Actions).

Solid track record operating within Agile/Scrum cross-functional teams.

Our client operates in Canada. The company takes all reasonable steps to limit the number of positions in Quebec that require knowledge of a language other than French, and only requires it when necessary and its existing bilingual employees are unable to perform these duties. Based on an assessment conducted by our client, it has been determined that this position requires candidates to be fluent in English (both spoken and written). In particular, this position will require the employee to interact with centralized internal departments (e.g., Operations / HR / Finance / Legal / Contracts / Sales) that support the organization in Canada and that do not speak French.

Summary
Location: Montreal, QC (Hybrid)

Position Type: Full-time / Permanent

Seniority: Senior (5+ years of experience)

Domain: QA Automation / Native Mobile (iOS & Android)
