Salary range (but not limited to):

69,200 - 84,600

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

7.5%

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.


About the role

As a Property Claims Adjuster II- Field, you’ll be at the heart of what we do best: helping people. You’ll work alongside a passionate and diverse team of adjusters who are experts in helping customers get back on track after a loss.

Your empathy and impressive skills will be a great addition to our team, and we’ll give you exciting opportunities to investigate and manage complex claims and losses for both our personal and commercial lines of business. What you’ll do here:

  • Conduct on-site inspections and investigate low complexity personal and commercial lines claims in a timely and respectful manner through communication with customers, contractors, consultants and any other related parties
  • Handle Field tasks on behalf of telephone adjusters.
  • Provide a superior quality of customer service to external and internal customers.
  • Analyze the information gathered, interpret insurance policy wording, determines coverage, assesses damage.
  • Within established authority limits, negotiate with customers, claimants, lawyers, and insurers to settle claims, while managing costs efficiently and effectively
  • Build relationships and collaborate with different teams including our rely partners, engineers, appraisers, underwriting and legal.
  • Stay in the know about current insurance products and trends in appraisal and investigation techniques and services.

What you bring to the table:

  • 1 to 5 years experience handling personal and/or commercial property claims.
  • University degree or college diploma and/or equivalent business experience.
  • A valid Class ‘G’ drivers license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to travel on short notice.
  • Previous experience in the field is an asset.
  • You are an excellent communicator with a passion for customer service.
  • You are highly knowledgeable of personal and/or commercial insurance products.
  • You are a skilled investigator and critical thinker.
  • You are a self-motivated goal seeker; you love a fast pace and interesting challenges.
  • You are an independent, analytical expert who can problem solve under pressure.
  • You are an organizational ace – You keep detailed documents, records of interviews with policy holders and witnesses, research, reports, and communications.
  • You are an outcome owner who can take appropriate action and be accountable for their decisions.
