Job description

What you’ll do:

The Deli Manager will perform a variety of responsibilities in the operation, ensuring alignment with our Core Values and Brand.

  • Champion and adhere to Westview Co-op’s Health and Safety Program, including all food safety standards
  • Deliver exceptional guest service and lead the team in living our “You’re at Home Here” brand
  • Provide leadership and direction to team members, including performance management, coaching, and development
  • Oversee daily operations of the Deli Department, including scheduling, ordering, merchandising, and inventory control
  • Maintain department standards for cleanliness, food safety, and overall image
  • Recruit, train, and develop team members to support a high-performing team
  • Monitor and manage financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and achieving departmental targets
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and productivity standards are consistently followed
  • Address customer concerns and ensure a high level of service and satisfaction
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities

We are ideally seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Food Safe Certification

  • 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in the retail food industry

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with performance management and achieving operational results

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities

  • Customer-first mindset with a sense of urgency

  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in cool, damp environments

  • Commitment to Co-op values: Integrity, Community, and Teamwork

  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a criminal record check
