Our non-profit, board-governed client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Accounting Technician to join their dynamic team. This full-time, permanent role based in Halifax, NS is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful causes while utilizing your financial acumen in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities for the Job :
Accounts payable Accounts receivable Recording transactions and posting debits / credits accurately Petty cash maintenance Financial reporting Year-end financial statement preparation Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements Other tasks and projects as assigned
Experience & Attributes for Success :
Post-secondary education in accounting or business administration Minimum 3 years’ bookkeeping / accounting support experience Proven understanding of accounting principles and practices Proficiency with Sage software is a definite asset Strong attention to detail and accurate in data entry and recording Punctual, reliable and responsible work ethic Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a larger team
