About the Role
As our Design Director, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Calgary. Reporting to the Vice President, you'll lead the charge in innovative design, overseeing projects from ideation to completion. This is your chance to influence the design direction of all projects and impact our city's landscape.
Key Responsibilities :
Provide design oversight and support for projects of various scales.
Manage relationships with stakeholders and third-party consultants.
Advocate for quality design solutions and challenge current best practices.
Foster collaboration and teamwork within the organization.
Critical Competencies :
Results-oriented leadership with strong relationship-building skills.
Ability to manage for results and resolve conflicts.
Critical listening skills and a proactive, innovative mindset.
Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
Qualifications :
7-10 years of experience in architecture, landscape architecture, or urban design.
Demonstrated success in leading design processes and defending quality design.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
Bachelor's degree in architecture or landscape architecture (Master's preferred).
Working Conditions :
Hybrid work environment between office and remote work.
