The opportunity
TELUS Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to lead our IV therapy team. We combine evidence-based medicine with efficient private clinic operations to deliver exceptional patient care. Join our collaborative healthcare environment where clinical excellence meets innovation.

By reducing wait-times and providing timely access, the clinic aims to boost patient well-being and overall physical health while decreasing the burden placed on hospital infusion services.
Our team and what we'll accomplish together
The IV therapy Nurse Practitioner will be the senior NP for the IV therapy service. They will specialize in the administration and management of intravenous treatments. Combining expert clinical skills with extensive knowledge of infusion therapies, the NP will deliver safe, effective, and patient-focused care. The role is critical in ensuring optimal patient outcomes in IV therapy.
Here's how
- Serve as the primary and senior NP for patients receiving IV medications (e.g., iron, biologics, bisphosphinates).
- Collaborate with the THCC NP lead to drive change and manage processes at the clinic level
- Educate patients on IV therapy procedures, including potential benefits, risks, and side effects of their prescribed infusion treatments
- Independently manage and operate the infusion clinic, including IV insertion.
- Supervise and mentor Registered Nurses within the infusion clinic.
- Manage and treat infusion reactions (e.g., anaphylaxis, bronchospasm).
- Collaborate with referring physicians to ensure continuity of care.
- Prescribe and adjust medications within the scope of practice.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop appropriate IV therapy treatment plans based on clinical findings.
- Maintain clinical documentation in accordance with CNO Standards of Practice and clinic protocols
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development.
- Manage complex cases and make autonomous decisions within the NP scope of practice.
- Maintain current knowledge of IV therapy advancements and apply evidence-based practices in infusion treatments.
- Contribute to developing clinic policies and procedures.
