Position Overview : As a Senior Estimator and Project Manager you will be responsible for overseeing projects from the initial tender through to final completion. This includes managing the entire lifecycle of the project - from initiating with the tendering process, preparing accurate cost estimates, and ensuring that all work is executed according to project specifications, scope and timelines. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety, while also meeting both client and consultant expectations.
In this role, you will work closely with Consultants, Clients, Subcontractors, Site Staff, Senior Management, and the Office to maintain effective communication and collaboration. Your ability to coordinate these various parties is crucial to maintaining smooth operations, mitigating risks, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities :
- Actively pursue upcoming quoting opportunities, review in detail project specifications.
- Utilize SharpeSoft to create accurate and detailed cost estimates, manage project budgets, and track financial performance.
- Create and submit estimates, tenders and quotations in a timely manner; based on the Project Spec and drawings, with great attention to detail, follow up on awards and scheduling.
- Work closely with Management to schedule, prepare for and execute awarded projects.
- Have a complete understanding of the specifications of work for all projects related to earthwork, roadwork, sewer and watermain, bridge and demolition works.
- Communicate project details and expectations with operations manager and site foremen to ensure project is executed as planned with the support required.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Complete monthly project progress draws with TB accounting staff. Ensuring all quantities are capture and communicated with the consultant.
- Participate in regular meetings with Engineers, Clients, Site and Office Staff to follow up and coordinate work schedules to deliver the project on time and within budgets.
- Liaise with office staff to ensure all activities are captured accurately and timely.
