What you’ll do:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Human Resources Advisor/Payroll & Benefits Specialist will be responsible for:
Overseeing various Talent Management Functions.
- Development parameters and frameworks around policies and procedures that allow for consistent application.
- Administering and coordinating all in-house and external learning and development opportunities for Team Leaders and Team Members.
- Administer and advise on interpretation of the Collective Agreement.
- Leading the Co-ops labour relations function.
- Leading recruitment and selection.
- Administering and coordinating employee retention programs.
- Administering Co-op benefits plan/program, and administering, monitoring, and reporting on health and safety compliance in all departments.
You will be responsible for maintaining payroll and benefit administration for all employees. Ensure payroll & benefits related practices are applied consistently across the organization and are in alignment with the business needs and applicable legislation and collective agreements.
You will engage with all department managers to respond to inquiries and provide support and recommendations regarding issues related to payroll and benefits.
You will assist with administering employee programs, paid/unpaid leaves and return to work processes. Support health and safety initiatives including WCB claims and related payroll coordination.
Providing coaching, advice, and support to all management and staff on a broad variety of health and safety activities and initiatives.
Investigating and analyzing incidents, hazard identifications, policies, procedures, and manuals as it relates to health and safety.
Working collaboratively with all stakeholders to generate solutions suitable for the effective and safe operation of all departments and divisions.
Assisting management in identifying required safety training and coordinating and providing safety education for employees.
Ensuring compliance with applicable legislation is maintained and serve as the technical expert on all health and safety initiatives and concerns.
