We are looking for our next Bilingual HRBP to join one of our major civil projects in Montreal.
What You'll Do Here :
Recruitment
Work with project to define (new) role requirements, advise on existing role requirements, develop role profiles as required, and conduct job analysisProvide headcount projection and strategic workforce planning support, when applicableIn collaboration with JV's HR Partners, facilitate recruitment process and interview alongside hiring managersCoordinate reference checks for potential candidatesEmployee Relations
Effective situation / conflict management, working closely with managers to ensure employee relations issues are handled professionally and timely and to minimize risks to the projectProactive outreach on HR communications (ex. supporting town halls, leadership / operational team meetings, etc.) to improve the employer-employee relationshipConduct investigations and deal with grievances when appropriateProvide advice, council, support and coach managers and employees as requiredCoach managers and employees on performance management, including company performance reviews and Individual Development Plans (IDP)Provide guidance, direction and advice to the Management team and employees regarding employment related issues including, but not limited to, the interpretation of company policies & procedures, recruitment & selection strategy, performance management, demobilization, strategic planning, training & development and benefits administrationWork closely with applicable JV's HR partners to facilitate promotions, demotions, transfers and demobilization in a professional manner. Advise and support managers in the management of sound labor relationsEnsure the smooth running of internal investigations into complaints, grievances, performance management, the disciplinary management process and / or violations of policies and proceduresAdvise managers on the application and interpretation of collective agreements, working conditions, labor standards and other legislation likely to improve the work climateDevelop, implement, evaluate and revise HR Management plan and labor relations procedures and processesEnsure the correct interpretation and application of collective agreementsEstablish and maintain harmonious working relationships with all project stakeholders, promoting collaboration and transparent communicationTalent Management
Support managers and employees with performance management and objective setting throughout the yearProvide advice, council and feedback on performance management strategy, ensuring project needs and individual objectives are linkedFacilitate training or in-house learning sessions for managers and employees as requiredEnsure training needs for the project are evaluated and appropriate training selected and rolled outSupport succession management initiativesGovernance
Creation and enforcement of HR policies, ensuring they align with project goals and legal requirementsMonitoring compliance with labor laws and internal policies, helping to mitigate risks and avoid legal issuesDiversity and Inclusion : Advocating for diversity and inclusion, promoting culture of equity within the project.HR Metrics & System Utilization
Oversee audits to ensure the accuracy of employment information submitted to payroll for unionized workers and processed in the systemNavigate through the HR System effectively to provide timely support to managers / employeesComplete ad hoc reports as requestedTraining & DevelopmentCollect feedback on training needs and provide feedback to the JV's HR partnersSupport any training process to managers and employees for continuous development in collaboration with JV's HR partners.What You Bring to the Team :
Post-secondary school education in Human Resources Management or Project AdministrationExperience in labor relations, collective agreement management in Quebec, and relations with unionized workers, an assetWorking towards the CHRL designation, or completed CHRL designation is an assetA minimum of 5 years of experience in a progressive Human Resources roleMust be Bilingual (fluent in French and English) Oral and Written.Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalismAbility to solve problems moderately complex in nature and make routine recommendationsAbility to work proactively and positively as part of a team acting with a sense of urgencyGreat customer service focusSolid working knowledge of the major elements of Human Resources and its systems and processesAbility to liaise and form positive relationships with all levels of employees and managementAecon fosters diversity, inclusion and belonging within and across our organization.
