The Corporate & Investor Relations (CIR) department plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing BCI's relationships with its clients and stakeholders through world-class engagement. The department is responsible for understanding the clients' needs and representing their interests within the organization, helping them develop investment strategies and policies, and communicating effectively with both internal and external audiences. Overall, the CIR department is vital for ensuring stakeholder satisfaction, client retention, and the organization's long-term success. The continued growth and increased profile of the organization has increased the need for greater focus and development of BCI’s client and internal stakeholder engagement programs.

There now exists an opportunity for an experienced and strategic communications leader to join BCI to take in a high profile and critical role of Director, Strategic Communications. Reporting to the EVP, Corporate & Investor Relations, the Director, Strategic Communications oversees a diverse portfolio including BCI’s client communications, employee and internal corporate communications, events, studio, brand development and design and digital strategy. In this key leadership role overseeing a team of 16, the Director will play a critical role in maintaining and strengthening long-term partnerships with BCI’s internal and external clients and stakeholders by refining the team’s engagement strategy and processes to ensure continuing success. Key mandates include the continued evolution of the client portal and client engagement strategy, rebuilding the internal intranet and supporting ongoing change management initiatives, better leveraging the various platforms and tools to promote the corporate brand and engage with its stakeholders, and providing strong leadership to reduce silos, improve collaboration, and streamline processes.

The successful candidate will be a corporate communications leader with experience in strategic communications, including employee engagement / employer and corporate branding. This experience could have been gained within an institutional investment management and / or investment consulting organization. BCI is seeking an exceptional people and change leader capable of engaging, motivating and developing a talented team and building a culture based on creativity, collaboration and client service orientation.

BCI offers a competitive total rewards package which includes a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, a defined benefit pension plan and paid time off.

The annualized base salary range for this Victoria-based role is CAD $144,000-$170,000.

The base salary offered to the successful candidate will consider a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill set, level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and consideration to internal equity.

We pay our people competitively in the markets in which we compete for talent and with consideration to internal equity and job structure. We aim for actual pay to be around the median of the market for target or expected levels of performance, and around the upper quartile of the market for excellent performance.

Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience and expertise.
