Location : Ottawa / National Capital Region, ON.
The Ottawa Hospital Board of Governors is seeking interest from candidates to complement the Board’s existing skills and qualifications, who share in TOH’s patient and family centric values, and who reflect Ottawa’s diverse cultural, rural, urban, and bilingual population.
Based on the specialized skills and attributes to be lost as a result of the departure of several incumbent Governors, as well as those criteria of interest for future Board Governors, the Board has prioritized the following attributes for this round of recruitment of up to three Governors :
- Construction / Engineering – experienced in or understanding of leadership in large-scale planning, development, and / or project design and implementation (with a particular focus on procurement and contract management).
- Patient and Healthcare Advocacy – experience or a strong understanding of how hospital and healthcare programs impact patients and their families; expertise in ensuring patient and family voices are at the forefront of decision-making.
- Quality and Patient Safety – expertise in driving continuous quality improvement and managing organizational risks including familiarity with key quality and safety principles, whether from healthcare or other sectors like education or industry; general knowledge of performance measurement to support quality improvement.
- First Nation, Inuit or Métis Health – experienced in or understanding of Indigenous-specific issues within the healthcare system.
A particular priority has also been placed on sourcing Francophone candidates as a reflection of the Board’s desire to ensure accordance with TOH’s Official Languages Policy and Program.
