We’re looking for a Health and Safety Supervisor to join our team. This is an onsite position reporting to our Mississauga, ON office.
General Duties :
Results oriented with a passion for safety and a leader in cultural change to ensure the effective implementation of workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures within all locations at Field Aviation.
Essential Job Functions :
- Responsible for developing and implementing all aspects of safety and emergency response policies and procedures;
- Identify safety hazards, carry out risk management analyses and develop hazard reduction plans to minimize risk;
- Monitor and evaluate the results of corrective action with respect to the safety program;
- Maintain the safety occurrence reporting system to ensure all safety incidents and accidents are investigated properly and timely and provide guidance to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations;
- Investigate, analyze and identify the root cause of incidents and accidents identified under the health and safety system, by the workplace health and safety committee or reported by any person and provide recommendations as required to Management;
- Maintain a safety data system to identify trends and reduce risks and create awareness programs as required;
- Identify and monitor all safety issues related to the building and communicate and determine resolutions with the landlord;
- Develop adequate health and safety training;
- Review and update company emergency response procedures, workplace health and safety policies and procedures manuals;
- Prepare safety reports as required by Field aviation management or regulatory authority;
- Liaise with Toronto Pearson International Airport and Airport Fire and Emergency Services to maintain facility compliance of airport emergency response and fire prevention as required;
- Provide guidance and support to the workplace health and safety committee(s);
- WSIB and WCB administration;
- Responsible for all aspects of the Return to Work program and workplace accommodation within all locations at Field Aviation including working with and communicating to employees, supervisors, managers and the Compensation Board(s).

The employee may occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
