Job Details Wage range : $43.17 to $55.39 Shift structure : Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours per day Primary location : CASA Centre Union : In-scope FTE : 1.0 FTE Status : Permanent About the Role : The Trauma program nurtures connection and safety in the caregiver-child relationship after experiencing trauma. Children and youth may come into the program via one of three streams : the Outpatient Trauma Clinic, the Trauma and Attachment Group (TAG) or Consultative Services. The Mental Health Therapist will : Work with the CASA team and external supports to provide high-quality, trauma-focused mental health therapies to children, teens and families. Help caregivers with children with exceptional needs build specialized parenting skills. Formulate diagnoses as appropriate, using the DSM-5-TR and other diagnostic tools. Provide clinical input to Therapy Support Navigators providing case management and wrap-around care for patients and families. Conduct case management functions, including convening case conferences and liaising with CASA therapists and psychiatrists, community services and other professionals involved with the child and family. Coordinate consultation to others therapists or external partners as appropriate. Provide supervision or preceptorship for student placements. Contribute to staff knowledge and understanding of discipline-specific issues. Qualifications : Master’s degree in psychology, social work (with psycho-social intervention designation) or occupational therapy. Current registration in good standing with a professional college identified under the Health Professions Act. A minimum of two years of clinical practice in child and family mental health and / or youth addictions. Demonstrated ability to practice culturally-safe therapeutic interventions. Knowledge of and experience in supporting the healing of children and youth who have experienced trauma. Knowledge of and experience in bottom-up and top-down modalities is an asset. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Conditions of Employment A satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Check. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate. Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA), as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.
