Job descriptionBachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field; or Associate’s degree with eight years of related experience; or no degree with ten years of related experience. Prior experience on at least one Federal Lands or National Park Service construction project is highly preferred. Good mathematical, computer, analytical, and organizational skills. Certification (or ability to obtain) in applicable areas of work assignments as required by clients. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to process paper and electronic documents and utilize computer office software. Physical ability to walk long distances, climb ladders, stoop, squat, and crawl to inspect work, observe construction activities, distinguish colors, and perceive backup alarms and other warnings. Capacity to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions, subject to insects, flooded terrain, equipment / traffic, and other hazards. Willingness to work nonstandard shifts, including long hours, weekends, or nights as directed by clients and / or manager. Must be able to drive the company vehicle and hold a valid driver’s license with a suitable driving record.
Construction Inspector – Denver, CO
We are seeking a Construction Inspector to join our team in Denver, CO. This position is based primarily in Denver but will require travel to remote locations across the western, eastern, and / or central United States. Work assignments may include the restoration of historic parks, roadways, buildings, and other infrastructure at national parks and forests in remote, rural locations. Prior experience working on Federal projects is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Under supervision, observe the work of contractors involved in the construction of projects and perform quality assurance (QA) activities.
- Act as the Owner’s Representative for Federal, State, and / or local clients.
- Frequently communicate with client representatives, contractors, and regulatory agency personnel to coordinate efforts.
- Observe and document construction activities in accordance with contract requirements, such as daily diaries, daily payment reports, memos to contractors regarding acceptance or rejection of work, change orders, civil rights compliance reports, and more.
- Research and interpret contract requirements to determine whether construction work is performed in substantial compliance with plans, specifications, and special provisions.
- Plan and prioritize tasks, and advise internal project managers and / or owners of any failures or delays.
- Participate in quality control checks, maintaining quality standards in all work produced.
- Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.

Compensation
Expected compensation range is between $80,000 – $100,000 annually, depending on skills, experience, and geographic location.
