We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Coordinator in the construction industry in Hamilton, Ontario. The candidate will be heavily involved in ensuring the development, implementation, and monitoring of health and safety policies and procedures. The role will provide an opportunity to promote a proactive culture of safety within the organization and ensure compliance with Ontario-specific regulations and practices.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement health and safety policies in compliance with OHSA and other relevant regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections, and perform audits using digital tools.
- Provide guidance to construction site managers on health and safety matters.
- Create and deliver comprehensive safety training programs to new hires utilizing technological solutions.
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents.
- Maintain records of safety-related incidents, and prepare detailed reports for management.
- Stay updated with changes to local, provincial, and federal safety regulations.
- Work with project managers to assess and mitigate potential hazards.
- Liaise with external agencies like the Ministry of Labour.
- Encourage and engage employees in safety initiatives.
