Flexibility in a new college is highly sought after as well as a commitment to personal and professional growth. Suitable applicants should be student and relationship focused, innovative and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in team environments. Applicants should possess the professional knowledge, understandings, and experience to develop and implement an engaging and relevant secondary school Mathematics curriculum. Teaching background and experience across lower school Mathematics contexts and the ability to demonstrate knowledge and teaching experience within senior school Mathematics courses (either Mathematics Methods, Mathematics Applications and / or Mathematics Essentials - ATAR and / or General pathways), is highly desirable, but not essential.
As a passionate Mathematics practitioner you should have commitment to excellence in teaching and engage in regular self-reflection. Another key attribute is the ability to create environments conducive to learning and differentiate educational opportunities that are purposeful and relevant, catering for different student learning needs. You should model highly effective teaching, learning and assessment principles such as explicit instruction, reciprocal teaching (formative assessment) and feed forward. The College has an imbedded culture of professional growth and development, supported by Instructional Coaching.
The College has a strong STEAM focus, working in a collaborative partnership with local primary schools, industry and tertiary education.
