Role Description The General Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in Surrey, BC. The General Manager oversees day-to-day operations, including warehouse activities, inventory control, order processing, and logistics coordination. This role manages and mentors staff, sets performance expectations, and ensures compliance with safety and company policies. The General Manager monitors financial performance, supports budgeting and forecasting, and identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, customer service, and profitability. The role also involves building strong relationships with key customers and suppliers and representing the company within the local market. Qualifications - Experience in operations management, including inventory control, warehouse oversight, and logistics coordination in a distribution or building products environment. - Proven leadership skills, with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop diverse teams while fostering a safe and inclusive workplace. - Solid business acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and basic financial analysis to support decision-making and performance improvement. - Strong customer service and relationship-building skills, with experience managing accounts and resolving issues in a professional manner. - Effective communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and implement process improvements. - Proficiency with common business software and ERP or inventory management systems; willingness to learn new tools and technologies. - Prior experience in building products, construction supply, or related industries is an asset. - Post-secondary education in business, operations, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
