Position Overview : As a Registered Veterinary Technician , you will play a pivotal role in delivering top-notch emergency care to our patients. Working alongside a team of experienced veterinarians and dedicated professionals, you will be integral to ensuring positive outcomes for pets and providing peace of mind to their owners.

Patient Triage : Quickly and accurately assess and prioritize patient needs in emergency situations.

Nursing Care : Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to critically ill or injured pets.

Medication Administration : Safely administer fluids, medications, and blood products as prescribed.

Monitoring : Vigilantly monitor patients under sedation or anesthesia, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Laboratory Work : Perform microscopic analysis of blood, urine, and other samples to assist in diagnosis and treatment.

Client Communication : Effectively communicate with pet owners regarding the status and care of their pets.

Qualifications :

Education : Graduate from an accredited Veterinary Technology program.

Certification : Successful completion of the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE).

Licensure : Licensed or eligible for licensure with the Eastern Veterinary Technicians Association (EVTA) and the Nova Scotia Veterinary Medical Association (NSVMA).

Experience : Experience in emergency medicine is preferred, but we are open to applicants with a strong background in general practice who are eager to transition into emergency care.
