Job description

In operation for more than 3 decades, Beaners Fun Cuts for Kids is a hair salon franchise specializing in children’s hair services. Our mission is to create a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for a child and a relaxing experience for the parent. We have 8 locations throughout Alberta and Ontario with each salon independently owned and operated.

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Freelance Digital Marketing Consultant to join our team and support our digital marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital marketing, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for creating impactful campaigns that drive engagement and results. This role is crucial in building brand awareness, ensures accuracy and incorporates relevant keywords for SEO, creating compelling and persuasive content, partnering with external organizations and building relationships in the beauty industry. This role is remote and offers flexible hours making it ideal for independent professionals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning & Budgeting

  • Plans, oversees and executes all marketing.
  • Stays updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices to ensure effective strategies and recommend best practices.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to align digital strategies with overall marketing objectives.
  • Contributes ideas and assist with the overall annual marketing plan.
  • Assists with creating budgets and adheres to annual marketing budgets.

Advertising & Digital Marketing

  • Develops and executes digital marketing campaigns across various platforms including social media, email and paid advertising (ie. Google, Meta, TikTok) and ensures efficient allocation of resources to enhance Beaners Fun Cuts online reputation and brand visibility.
  • Monitors and analyzes the performance of digital campaigns using analytic tools, providing timely actionable recommendations, insight and reports.
  • Creates compelling and persuasive content for various digital channels, including newsletters, blog posts, website copy and social media.
  • Optimizes website content and digital assets for SEO to increase organic traffic.
  • Coordinates ad creative with graphic designer.
  • Manages photo or video shoots for ad campaigns or social media use.
  • Plans, creates and releases of monthly marketing emails per location with multiple months having multiple emails.
  • Manages the Beaners Fun Cuts mobile app.
  • Social Media

  • Manages corporate social media accounts including content planning, posting and engaging with followers.
  • Executes the creation and scheduling of social media content.
  • Creates monthly content calendar, including photography coordination.
  • Manages corporate and local social media contests.
  • Monitors and responds to customer comments and inquiries.
  • Recommends ways to increase organic growth.
  • Sources influencer and outreach for creation of sponsored content.
  • Assigns franchise owners with video content creation themes and oversee the collection and editing of video content.
  • In-Store & Local Marketing

  • Planning and coordination of any needed in-store marketing materials (i.e. posters, TV screen displays).
  • Refreshes in-store marketing video quarterly.
  • Provide ad hoc support to independent franchisee owners to coordinate local marketing on their behalf.
  • REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in digital marketing, with a portfolio or case studies demonstrating successful online campaigns.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, SEM, email marketing, social media management and influencer marketing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to details.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools such as Hootsuite, e-clincher, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Passionate, self-motivated, detail-oriented and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools (ie. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc).
  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Marketing, Communications or a related field (preferred but not mandatory) with a minimum of 5 years experience.
  • Insured.
  • English preferred.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Remote position with flexible working hours.
  • Freelance contract with project-based or retainer payment structure.
  • Opportunity to work with a dynamic team on exciting projects.
  • Some travel may be required.
