Freelance project manager Jobs in Scarborough, ON

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee and drive multiple concurrent projects for our banking client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end project management, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with business objectives. This role requires a strong understanding of banking operations, governance, regulatory compliance, and technology-driven initiatives. This a 6 month contract with potential to extend.

Key Responsibilities :

• Manage and lead multiple banking projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Finance, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Develop detailed project plans, track progress, and proactively address risks and roadblocks.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal governance frameworks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project objectives, and communicate updates effectively.
• Implement best practices in project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall, as applicable.
• Conduct post-project evaluations to assess success and identify areas for improvement.
• Manage vendor relationships and third-party service providers as required.
• Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, IT, or a related field. PMP, PRINCE2, or other project management certifications preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in project management, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
• Strong knowledge of banking operations, regulatory compliance, and financial products.
• Experience managing PMO operations, regulatory projects preferred,
• Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, or Trello.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills to drive project success.
