Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Hamilton, ON

Shift: Continental

Pay rate: $43.10/hr plus shift premiums

Job Description:

  • Work collaboratively as part of a team made up of another millwright and electrician
  • Follow all plant, and safety procedures and wear all required personal protective equipment
  • Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
  • Inspect, examine, investigate, clean, assemble and repair irregularities and malfunctions of machinery and equipment (i.e., presses, conveyors, monorails systems, pumps furnaces, and compressors)
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as jacks, forklifts, and cranes to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery and equipment.
  • Assist with proactive and reactive troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment to minimize production downtime and delays
  • Actively contribute to the preventative maintenance program by providing recommendations for improvement

  • Industrial Mechanic Millwright Certificate of Qualification (433A)
  • Experience working safely in a heavy industrial environment
  • Working knowledge of OHSA and relevant legislation (e.g., WHMIS, Lockout, Confined Space, Working at Heights, etc.) and willingness to successfully complete employer-paid training
  • Able to prioritize urgency based on production requirements
  • Conduct and complete scheduled preventative maintenance work orders, tasks, and checklists
  • Accurately document the steps taken and the duration required to diagnose and resolve issues
  • Ability to work independently and as a contributing, collaborating team member
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Safely perform the physical demands of this position including standing, bending, crouching, overhead work, heavy lifting and carrying.
  • Possession of a valid G1 (Gas Fitter) certificate would be considered an asset
  • Possession of CWB Welding Certificate (W47.1) would be considered an asset
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to work full time hours as required by this position
