Job description

We are currently looking for an experienced CNC Operator / Inspector for a safety-sensitive role in Nisku, AB.

The CNC Operator / Inspector will be responsible for inspecting threaded pipe for quality assurance, as well as operating, setting up, and programming CNC machines. This facility manufactures threaded connections, including premium proprietary connections and API standard connections.

The role may focus on high-volume production pipe, where efficiency is key, or more complex accessory pieces where quality and accuracy are extremely important.

Location: Nisku, AB
Wage: $32.30/hour with experience
Night Shift Premium: Additional $2.00/hour for night shifts
Schedule: Rotating schedule over a 3-week period, with fixed day or night shifts

Please note: Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and fit test.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines to create premium threading connections
  • Set up CNC programs based on production requirements
  • Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or using material handling equipment
  • Read and interpret CAD drawings, charts, and tables
  • Use power and manual tools to complete tasks efficiently and to quality standards
  • Set up gauges and adjust tools for inspection purposes
  • Perform product inspections and ensure quality standards are met
  • Report non-conformities, rejects, and product deviations to the quality department
  • Inspect machinery and equipment for irregularities or malfunctions
  • Complete customer return inspections and verifications as required
  • Assist with ISO, API, quality, and safety audits
  • Meet productivity and efficiency standards
  • Report malfunctioning equipment and ensure proper use of company assets
  • Participate in training and continuous improvement activities
  • Follow all company safety procedures and participate in hazard identification
  • Perform basic maintenance, housekeeping, and administrative duties as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a CNC Operator or Lathe Operator
  • Experience with Okuma, Mazak, or Mori Seiki equipment is an asset
  • Manual labour experience in an industrial setting
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical information
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Comfortable working in a safety-sensitive environment
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and fit test
