Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Finance the Manager of Financial Services is responsible for overseeing the Districts day-to-day Accounting operations and financial reporting. The Manager will also lead business planning activities including new initiatives or projects related to Financial Services as required.

Major Responsibilities

• Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations and department activities including accounts payable accounts receivables treasury month end processes account reconciliations and analysis and various statutory reporting and filings
• Ensuring effective and efficient processes and procedures are implemented for providing proper internal controls in safeguarding the Districts assets
• Provide support to both District and School level staff in addressing accounting related matters and inquiries
• Coordinate and oversee internal audit engagements and prepare working papers and financial statements for the year end audit
• Prepare internal financial reports for management and external regulatory financial submissions for the Ministry of Education and Childcare
• Provide training assistance and technical support to users of both the Districts financial reporting systems as well as the school-based accounting systems.
• Responsible for managing coaching mentoring and developing team members
• Performs other related duties as requested

Compensation

Comprehensive total compensation package includes a base salary in the range of $102001 - $127501 depending on experience a generous benefits package and participation in a pension plan.

Location

This position is an on-site position at their Burnaby office on 4054 Norfolk St. Burnaby with the opportunity to work two days from home upon completion of probationary period.
