Job Summary

The Senior Accountant Aggregates, reporting to the Subsidiary Controller, will assist the General Manager Aggregates with the financial reporting requirements and overall management of the financial transactions relating to the Aggregate Activity.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $90000 $100000 CAD per year. The final compensation package will be determined based on factors including the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise team of approximately 3 accountants / clerks / admins to achieve the KPI of function.
  • Manage financial transactions of all Aggregate Production and Sales.
  • Subject Matter Expert for the related applications including JWS and JDE for he related activity.
  • Responsible for all financial transactions related to the Aggregate business units to ensure proper coding and allocation.

Review all related transaction to ensure consistent coding as per financial reporting, internal controls and review needs.

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budgets along with preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements and other reporting as needed.
  • Understand in depth, monitor and report on the various royalty agreements in place.
  • Lead and reconcile the annual inventory counts for all Aggregate sources.
  • Ad hoc duties assigned by the Controller

Experience and Knowledge Required for the Role :

  • CPA or working towards CPA designation.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accountancy and should have Minimum 3 years of experience as a Senior Accountant or a similar role ideally within the construction or aggregate industry.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong work ethic and team focused approach which is hands on .
  • Advanced communication skills (oral, written, and technical).
  • Computer proficiency
  • Microsoft Office- Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook,
