We are constantly increasing our product offerings to meet the diverse and changing needs of our customers. Our customers include small to large corporations, institutions, government agencies and consumers across North America.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations

  • Oversee A / R, A / P, and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with Canadian accounting standards.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury operations to support day-to-day business needs.
  • Monitor compliance with federal, provincial, and industry-specific regulations, including tax and financial reporting requirements.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of the annual budget in collaboration with department heads.
  • Develop and maintain financial forecasts to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Analyze variances between actual performance and budgeted targets, providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and present accurate and insightful financial reports to the President, CFO, and leadership team.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
  • Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Promote best practices and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure alignment and collaboration between finance and other departments, supporting company-wide objectives.
  • Strategic Support

  • Support the leadership team in evaluating business opportunities, including potential M&A initiatives.
  • Assist with financial modeling, due diligence, and integration planning when applicable.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the President based on financial insights and market trends.
  • Competencies and Skills

    Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation is required.
  • Additional certifications such as CMA or CFA are considered an asset.
  • Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, including 5+ years in a leadership capacity.
  • Proven experience in managing A / R, A / P, and general accounting functions.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience in the industrial distribution sector or a similar industry is an asset.
  • Skills & Competencies

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach to financial data.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on developing talent and driving performance.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
