Qualifications

  • One year of experience in a writing role at a newspaper or magazine
  • Post-secondary studies in journalism, media, communications, film, TV or related field
  • Experience with business journalism is not required but would be considered an asset, as would a strong interest in writing about the business side of TV and film
  • Adept at using CP Style, with an eye for detail and copy consistency
  • Proven understanding of journalistic standards and practices
  • Superlative time-management and organizational skills
  • Experience and comfort with establishing and maintaining key editorial relationships with exec-level contacts
  • Team player attitude and comfortable working on a small editorial team
  • Strong editorial standards and sound news judgment
  • Inside knowledge of the film and television industry would be an asset
  • Ability to edit video is an asset
  • Ability to travel within Canada, as needed
