We are seeking a Field Service Supervisor to join our Field Service team. You will be responsible for the coordination / planning and execution / supervision of activities related to the repair, maintenance, and installation of mining process equipment. Your role plays a crucial part in maintenance work as well as knowledge in mining equipment. In this position, you will report to the Field Service Manager.

This position is mainly located in Burlington (CA), Montreal (CA), Sudbury (CA) but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. however, it involves up to 80% of travel to customer sites.

You will join a team of Field service experts committed to the repair, maintenance, and installation of Metso’s mining process equipment.

Our team culture is all about solving and getting things done. The members in our team are in various locations and coordinate with Interfaces with Operations Team, Manager of Administration / Accounting / Field Service Support team.

What You’ll Do (French)

Formez et éduquez : Formez le personnel du client aux méthodes appropriées d’entretien et de réparation de l’équipement.
Documentez et raportez : Rédigez des rapports détaillés décrivant les problèmes rencontrés, les mesures prises et les recommandations futures.
Innovez et améliorez : Faites des recommandations pour améliorer les méthodes et l’efficacité sur le chantier lorsque cela est approprié.
Gérez les dépenses : Soumettez des rapports de dépenses conformément aux politiques et procédures de voyage de Metso.

What You’ll Do (English)

Prepare for Growth : Before heading to a field assignment, you’ll dive deep into the detailed scope of work, drawings, company procedures, and specific instructions to ensure you’re fully prepared.

Collaborate with Experts : Work closely with Metso’s technical support staff to leverage their expertise.

Provide Expert Guidance : Offer advisory services during installation, checkout, start-up, and commissioning phases.

Coordinate Activities : Liaise with customers and their contractors to ensure smooth field operations.

Support Execution : Assist customers in maintaining the field schedule and ensure timely completion of tasks.

Safety First : Guide mill or contractor crews in safely performing maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.

Troubleshoot & Repair : Address mechanical issues and assist with corrective actions and repairs.

Optimize Operations : Recommend operating and maintenance procedures to ensure equipment functions properly.

Train & Educate : Train customer staff on proper maintenance and repair methods.

Document & Report : Write detailed field reports outlining problems encountered, actions taken, and future recommendations.

Innovate & Improve : Suggest improvements to field methods and efficiency when appropriate.

Track Expenses : Submit expense statements in line with Metso’s travel policies and procedures.

Versatile Service : Take on other service-related tasks as requested by the Field Service Manager.

Travel Ready : Be prepared for both domestic and international travel as needed.

Adapt & Excel : Perform other miscellaneous tasks and special projects as required.

Who You Are (French)

Certifié et expérimenté : Certificat de mécanicien‑monteur ou expérience équivalente avec au moins 5 ans dans le domaine des services en chantier.

Certified & Experienced : Millwright certification or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years in field service.

Globally Ready : Valid Canadian passport and driver’s license.

Expert Communicator : High communication skills with mandatory fluency in English (oral and written) and preferred fluency in French (oral and written).

Tech-Savvy : Adequate computer skills, capable of working with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes email.

Travel Enthusiast : Willingness to travel to job sites, including extended periods, up to 70% of the time.

Pressure Performer : Capable of handling tasks in a time‑sensitive setting, with the potential for 16‑hour workdays.

Emergency Ready : Willingness to respond to field service emergency calls on a 24 / 7 basis.
