Job description

Field Service Supervisor

Location : Stoney Creek, ON (travel is required)

The opportunity :

MT Talent has partnered with a respected solutions provider in the air, water and wastewater treatment sector. With a diverse clientele of municipal, industrial, commercial, and construction, there is an exciting and vast range of projects that the Supervisor  will be part of. The Field Supervisor will lead crews to support timely project delivery according to spec, ensure the safety of employees, and act as a liaison while on site with contractors and customers.

This is a full-time, permanent position.

Here’s what you will do in the role :

  • Reading blueprints, show drawings and job instructions to ensure that the scope of work is completed correctly, efficiently and safely.
  • Drive to multiple sites throughout the province. There is travel and you will be expect to stay overnight in a hotel. All meals and lodging will be absorbed by the employer.
  • Monitoring, instructing and teaching field service technicians to ensure that the work has is being completed properly.
  • Monitoring and evaluating various subcontractors used to complete scope of work properly.
  • Make arrangements for with various suppliers, carriers, and rental companies for material and equipment deliveries to site.
  • Monitoring, evaluating and implementing safety protocols / procedures related to the work onsite.
  • Ensuring all documentation including safety forms are completed properly and in a timely manner.

Here’s what we are looking for :

  • At least 2 years’ Supervisory experience in the construction or mechanical capacity.
  • A valid G driver’s license and clean driving record. D or Z license is a definite asset.
  • Experience organizing work crews, materials, interaction with contractors, consultants, and customers, overseeing and enforcing safe work practices.
  • Solid computer skills including MS Office.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel within Canada 50% of the time to project sites which includes overnight stays.
  • A positive, reliable, lead-by-example attitude.
  • Highly organized with an ability to meet defined project deadlines and deliverables.
  • Post-secondary education in Construction, Mechanical Engineering or other area of study is desired, but not required.
