Legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship. Reside within 80km of Milton, ON (no relocation benefits). Experience with Low Voltage Power Distribution Products. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D software.

Eaton’s Electrical division is seeking a Product Design Specialist, Mechanical Engineering at our Milton, ON facility, offering benefits from day one. Our Milton site has 225 team members and manufactures low voltage distribution assemblies including panelboards, switchboards, and transfer switches.
What You’ll Do
Position Overview : The Product Design Specialist will support Eaton Canada’s largest manufacturing plant in the mechanical design of low-voltage distribution assemblies. You will work with different departments, including engineering, manufacturing, sales, marketing, and supply chain to fulfill live customer orders.
In This Role, You Will
- Adapt products using Inventor to fulfill customer orders.
- Assess incoming Custom Switchboard orders for new design elements.
- Maintain Product Option Matrix to visualize configurations and gaps.
- Identify, approve, and implement product improvements.
- Create and maintain standard drawings and issue Engineering Change Notices.
- Determine manufacturing methods and materials, leveraging DFM, FMEA, and VA / VE tools.
- Train manufacturing personnel on new methods.
- Participate in CSA / UL audits, NCMRs, and CARs as needed.
What Will Make You Successful
The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, including MS Office, MetaCAM, and Lean Six Sigma. Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code, CSA & UL Standards, and testing requirements for Low-Voltage Power Distribution is essential. Experience with sheet-metal fabrication and design-for-manufacturing in an ETO environment is beneficial. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are crucial.
