Our client is an Abbotsford-based civil construction firm that is looking to hire an

Estimator in the area of Civil Construction (roadworks, earthworks and underground utilities). MAREX Constructors Ltd. is a privately-owned civil construction firm that has been serving the Fraser Valley since 1976.

Your new role

You will be responsible for preparing, coordinating and managing estimates : focusing on underground utilities, public, and private civil projects in the Lower Mainland / Fraser Valley area. This will involve, but not limited to, helping prepare tenders and bid forms, project costing, help with the dispatching of labour and / or subcontractors, projectmunication and documentation. The successful candidate will have responsibilities through the project lifecycle, with the focus on biding process.

What you'll need to succeed

Expertise with cost estimating processes, and standards in all formats, including Lump Sum and Unit Rate contracts petitive bidding process). The ability to make decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with iplete data and under tight deadlines and pressure. Demonstrated knowledge of equipment types and different civil construction methods. Knowledge and experience of developing labour, equipment, and other construction cost rates. Thorough knowledge (ideally with hands-on application) in the construction of earthwork, paving, underground, and grading practices
