Job description

BLACKFOOT LANGUAGE INSTRUCTOR – Division Schools This position is open to all internal and external candidates. Prior to employment, successful applicants must provide supporting documents as outlined on our New Employees page. We are looking to hire a temporary 35.0 hour per week Blackfoot Language Instructor to serve our Division Schools. This assignment is to commence as August 26, 2024 and terminate June 30, 2025, with possibility of extension. This is an out of scope position.The Individual You are a strong advocate for youth and their success in learning. You demonstrate by interest, lifestyle, and growth involvement within a Christ-centered working environment. Your participation within the Catholic faith is considered to be an asset. We are looking for a dynamic educator who believes in supporting positive behaviors through effective classroom management, has a strong sense of inclusion, and is willing to build strong connections with parents, fellow colleagues and students. As a fluent Blackfoot speaker, you will work under the supervision of a certificated teacher to provide language instruction and programming to our Indigenous students that are supported by Jordan’s Principle.Qualifications Fluent in Blackfoot; Experience / training in working with children or in school settings is an asset.
