Job Description

We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, as our new Plumber. As a Plumber at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge your care and attention to detail will ensure that our guests have a memorable stay in the Canadian Rockies.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Director, Engineering, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Follow policies, procedures and service standards
  • Responsible for all plumbing related trade work at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
  • Provide troubleshooting expertise specific to high and low pressured steam mechanical system
  • Responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of all plumbing systems
  • Preventative maintenance of equipment pertaining to plumbing
  • Ensure all work done in the plumbing department is in compliance with federal and provincial codes and regulations
  • Ensure all power tools are in good and safe working conditions
  • Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule based on volume of business
  • Train and assist the shift maintenance colleagues
  • Assist other trades as they relate to plumbing maintenance
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with both guests and colleagues
  • Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel vehicles
  • Adhere to all safety protocols as defined by Occupational Health and Safety and Trade
  • Embrace the Fairmont brand promise and luxury in your role and in all your interactions.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Provincial Journeyperson’s certificate for Province of Alberta required
  • Service plumbing experience required
  • Level 1 Pool Certification as an asset
  • Knowledge of automatic controls required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows applications required (Word, Excel & Power Point)
  • Valid Alberta driver’s license required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
