We are currently putting together a stellar team that will help achieve this goal.The Role | Junior AccountantAs a Junior Accountant, you will support several corporate & personal entities in our Managing Director’s portfolio with all back, middle and front office activities. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role will allow high levels of exposure to company leadership including supporting projects led by our VP, Finance, and you will have lots of opportunities to develop hands-on skills in many areas of the business. Given that this is a fast-paced environment, you must be adaptive in your approach and be able to work independently under limited supervision. A passion for real estate is a must!Perks & BenefitsCollaborative, youthful and dynamic team environment with lots of opportunity to make an impact on the future of this business4 days WFH + one day working on-site from our office in the downtown core, close to St. Andrew Station.Corporate socials and team eventsWhat You'll DoAccounts Payable Management : Process and verify vendor invoices, ensuring timely and accurate paymentsCorporate Card & Expense Reporting : Oversee the Managing Director’s Corporate & Personal credit cards and expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policiesJournal Entries : Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and capital asset entriesFinancial Documentation : Assist the Accountant with the preparation of supporting documentation for financial audits and reporting Junior AnalystReconciliation : Assist in the reconciliation of accounts related to payables, expenses, and capital assets to ensure accuracyReporting : Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to accounts payable, expenses, and accrualsProcess Improvement : Provide recommendations and support in the implementation of operational improvements to increase efficiency & accuracy in accounts payable and expense reportingOther ad hoc personal & business-related administrative tasks as assigned by the Managing DirectorRequirements : Bachelor’s degree or College diploma, majoring in Business, Finance or AccountingCompleted relevant co-op / internship program or minimum 6-months practical experience with accounts payable, expense reporting, and journal entriesKnowledge of basic accounting principles (GAAP), including journal entries, accruals, and prepaidsProficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong skills in Excel or spreadsheetsFamiliarity with QuickBooks OnlineAttention to Detail : Consistently produces high-quality work, incredibly detail-oriented, and investigates discrepancies with curiosityHigh level of professionalism and responsiveness in all interactions with vendors, employees, and other stakeholdersSolution oriented approach with a growth mindsetStrong communication skills, proactively discussing challenges with the team and Managing DirectorOwnership Mentality : Takes full responsibility for outcomes, continuously seeks improvements, and ensures timely, high-quality deliverablesAbility to collaborate effectively with other team members and departmentsStrategic thinker with an entrepreneurial & creative approach to problem solving
