Our Niagara area client, a leading global producer of OEM disc brake caliper pistons in the world, is recruiting for an Electrician / Maintenance Mechanic.. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position would be responsible to install, maintain and repair complex machinery that combine both electrical and mechanical components, including automated systems and robotics; troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal equipment performance; read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to diagnose problems and perform repairs; conduct routine maintenance checks and calibrations on equipment; provide a proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem solving, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Maintenance and repair :
Perform preventative maintenance checks, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults, replace worn parts and repair malfunctioning systems on automated machinery.
Diagnose complex issues by analyzing electrical circuits, mechanical systems and control logic using diagnostic tools.
Calibrate instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy, conduct functional tests on systems, and document test results.
Interpret technical drawings and diagrams to understand system layouts, component connections and wiring configurations.
Program PLCs or other control systems to manage machine operations and sequences.
Monitor system performance metrics, identifying trends and reporting on potential issues.
Install new electromechanical equipment, aligning components and assembling parts according to specifications using hand tools and power tools.
Able to travel between 2 production facilities. Mileage provided.
Time spent : 75% mechanical repairs and 25% electrical repairs
Advantages
Start rate : $41.97 per hour
Afternoon shift premium - $0.75 per hour
Midnight shift premium - $1.00 per hour
