About the position
CSL Australia is currently looking for a permanent full time Chief Engineer to join our cement carrier Goliath. This operation is based in the Bass Strait. Reporting to the Master, the Chief Engineer is the head of the Engineer Department with all engineer Officers responsible directly to them for all machinery and equipment assigned to their care.
In addition, the Chief Engineer will be responsible for :
The safe and efficient operation of all machinery and electrical equipment and for the effective maintenance of the whole ship;
Steelwork repairs and all maintenance of the vessel apart from general cleaning and preparation prior to and including painting;
The issuance of the Vessel’s Work Orders
Reporting all deficiencies affecting the safe, efficient and pollution free running of thevessel to the Master;
Ensuring that planned maintenance system and inspection system will meet regulatory, Class and Company requirements;
Liaising with the Fleet Technical Manager or Senior Vessel Manager for the technical soundness of the vessel.
About you
Educational requirement : as per AMSA Marine Order 72 – Engineer class 1 (required)
AMSA Chief Engineer (Class 1) CoC / CoR Unlimited
Minimum 12 months sea time as a First Engineer (required)
MSIC Card (required or ability to obtain)
Working Safely at Heights (required or ability to obtain)
Enter and Work in a Confined Workspace certification (required or ability to obtain)
Current AMSA Medical (required or ability to obtain)
Australian Citizen or Valid Work Visa (required)
Living in Australia
