Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller with a strong background in cost accounting and financial systems implementation to lead accounting operations. This role will oversee financial reporting, internal controls, cost analysis, and strategic planning, while also playing a key role in evaluating and implementing a new ERP or financial software system. The ideal candidate will have expertise in inventory management, product costing, and variance analysis, helping drive efficiency and profitability.

In addition to managing core accounting functions, this role will act as a key business partner, working closely with operations, supply chain, and executive leadership to drive financial strategy and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Act as a strategic business partner, collaborating with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to drive financial and operational efficiency.
  • Lead cost accounting functions, including product costing, standard costing, and variance analysis.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, overhead allocation, and inventory valuation to optimize profitability.
  • Oversee financial reporting, general ledger management, and month-end close processes.
  • Evaluate, scope, and assist in implementing a new financial / ERP system, ensuring seamless integration with accounting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP / IFRS and internal accounting policies.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support business strategy.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Mentor and develop accounting team members, fostering a culture of growth and continuous improvement.

Qualifications :

  • CPA designation (CA, CMA, CGA, or CPA) preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong cost accounting experience, including inventory management, standard costing, and variance analysis.
  • Hands-on experience in scoping, evaluating, and implementing new financial or ERP software.
  • Proficiency in GAAP, IFRS, and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics) and implementation projects.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Industry experience in manufacturing, distribution, or similar cost-driven environments is a plus.
