With a dedicated team of over 20 employees and a strong reputation within the industry, we are looking for an Architectural Designer responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans that are used in the design and construction of various engineering projects. Job Summary :

The Architectural Designer at Strata Engineering plays a vital role in supporting engineering projects by creating precise and detailed technical drawings. This position is critical for translating engineering designs and concepts into clear and accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Produce detailed and accurate technical drawings using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, Revit or other relevant tools.
  • Ability to produce building envelope details.
  • Ability to efficiently work with layers.
  • Ability of converting PDF drawings to CAD.
  • Ability to perform on-site measurements.
  • Ability to work with original design drawings.
  • Ability to create building envelope concepts for remediation projects.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to transform engineering concepts, sketches, and specifications into comprehensive drawings.
  • Provide necessary dimensions, labels, and annotations to drawings to convey critical information, tolerances, and specifications clearly.
  • Create plans, elevations, sections, and isometric drawings as necessary for project documentation.
  • Ensure that drawings accurately represent the selected materials and components as specified by engineering teams.
  • Develop as-built drawings to record changes made during construction, renovations, or modifications to existing structures.
  • Review own work and collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure drawings meet project requirements and adhere to quality standards.
  • Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation for reference and project tracking.
  • Ensure that drawings adhere to industry standards, codes, and regulations, and assist in obtaining necessary permits as needed.

Qualifications :

  • Associate degree or technical certification in drafting, engineering technology, or related field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software.
  • Architectural design knowledge and experience.
  • Prior experience in drafting and design for an engineering or architectural firm.
  • Understanding of building envelope design, residential, commercial and institutional building design and construction.
  • Knowledge of BC Building Code (Parts 3, 5 and 9).
  • Experience with 3D modeling and visualization software a plus.
  • Applicant Qualities :
