MPA is proud to partner with a leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing high quality long-term care to seniors across British Columbia.
As the Director of Care (DoC), you will work closely with the Administrator to ensure the effective delivery of clinical services and programs in a long-term care facility catering for 230 residents. You will provide effective leadership to the staff team to ensure that residents have a positive care experience which respects and promotes their independence, dignity and privacy.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee and develop the day-to-day operations of clinical programs to ensure that they meet the holistic needs of residents.
- Provide leadership in all aspects of resident care.
- Monitor the quality of nursing care provision to ensure and participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with professional, legal and organizational requirements.
- Ensure adequate staffing at all times.
- Provide supervision, mentoring and support to team members.
- Engage in probationary reviews, annual performance appraisals and the progressive disciplinary process as appropriate.
- Participate in the selection and hiring process.
- Maintain up to date documentation and provide reports as required e.g. incident analysis and response reporting.
- Develop and maintain positive partnerships with residents, families and key stakeholders.
- Ensure health & safety practices are in place and followed by staff at all times.
- Provide on call support as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
