About this role:
As a Lending Operations Specialist, you will support Meridian’s success by supporting the retail business in the fulfillment of all lending solutions (Mortgages, Line of Credit, Auto loans, and other lending instruments). The supporting activities including, but are not limited to, fundings, payouts, instructing Solicitors, insurance management and document preparation. You will ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency in processing requests, collaborating with internal and external partners, and maintaining high standards in service delivery. You will act as a subject matter expert, and trusted partner, building and maintaining relationships across departments to align with Meridian’s MFG strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Member/Partner Experience
- Execute on Retail loans and mortgage activities such as:
- Mortgage Closings supporting all channels (Broker, Mobile, Branch)
- Conversions
- Property tax remittances
- Receiving and triaging retail requests
- Document preparation
- Document ordering
- Payouts and Discharges
- Funding mortgages
- Instructing Solicitors and obtaining/reviewing Final reports
- Creditor Insurance
- Fire/Auto Insurance
- Communicate with multiple external partners such as solicitors, municipalities and vendors.
- Collaborate with Branches, Adjudication, and Risk
- Fulfill complex requests within timelines, verifying documentation and transactions for accuracy.
- Investigate Member accounts and activities, managing transactions on multiple systems with precision.
- Resolve Member issues, manage resolutions and support branches with Member Concerns to mitigate risks.
- Use policies to solve errors or omissions, stay updated and maintain policies, procedures, forms.
- Comply with regulations, keeping up with changes and handle correspondence and information discreetly.
- Perform additional duties as needed.

- Solid mortgage knowledge - Construction, Registration, Payouts, Conversions, Closings and Fundings, Property Taxes, Staff Lending
- Familiarity with investment and lending documentation
- Strong knowledge of computer systems, including virtual technology. Ovation/Encore and Microsoft Office products, an asset

Education, Designations, Training, and Experience
Experience
- 1-3 years progressive experience in retail lending, sales/service in a banking, finance environment or like field
- Background education in accounting, finance, commerce, business administration, or equivalent would be an asset

Salary Range: CAD 47,775 to 62,200 annually
Compensation for this role is based on a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Candidates with stronger alignment to the role’s requirements may be placed higher within the range. Your recruiter will share more information about our total rewards package during the hiring process.
Office Location: St. Catharines Corporate Office, located at 75 Corporate Park Drive, St. Catharines, ON.
