Position : Electromechanical Design Engineer

Reports To : Engineering Supervisor
Position Summary
Responsible for designing and developing electromechanical systems, integrating electrical and mechanical components to deliver innovative, efficient, and reliable solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop products that meet client specifications, industry standards, and performance requirements.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Design electromechanical systems, including electrical circuits, control systems, mechanical structures, and interfaces.
Create detailed designs and drawings for electromechanical systems, including schematic diagrams, Control layouts, 3D models, and mechanical assemblies.
Collaborate with electrical engineers and mechanical engineers to integrate electrical and mechanical components effectively.
Integrate electrical systems with mechanical components to ensure proper functionality, performance, and safety.
Perform system-level simulations and analysis to validate performance, identify issues, and optimize design solutions.
Build prototypes and perform testing of electromechanical systems to ensure they meet design specifications and regulatory standards.
Conduct troubleshooting and debugging to resolve design and manufacturing issues.
Analyze test results and make necessary adjustments to designs.
Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and testing reports.
Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.
Support the preparation of certifications and approvals from regulatory bodies as necessary.
Work closely with manufacturing, quality assurance, and procurement teams to ensure smooth transition from design to production.
Provide technical support to customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders regarding electromechanical systems.
Participate in design reviews, provide feedback, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Participate in project planning and resource management, including estimating time and costs for design and development phases.
Track progress against project timelines and deliverables, ensuring on-time completion.
Perform additional duties as required.
Minimum Requirements Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or specialized certifications (e.g., in mechatronics) is a plus
5+ years of experience in electromechanical design, preferably within an electrical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering environment.
Working knowledge of UL508 and UL67 standards preferred
Experience in designing Electrical Panels and High-power Switchgear preferred
Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) and electrical design tools.
Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing electromechanical systems is highly desirable
Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including circuit design, control systems, and power distribution.
Solid mechanical design skills, including knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical CAD modeling.
Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, actuators, and embedded systems is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to travel as required.
