Your new role

  • Conduct pre-drilling, drilling, and loading QA/QC activities to ensurepliance with mine plans and standards.
  • Monitor underground drilling and blasting activities and provide real-time feedback to operations and contractor crews.
  • Conduct fragmentation analysis and assist with identifying opportunities to improve blasting performance and reduce oversize.
  • Perform vibration monitoring and analyze blasting performance data.
  • Assist with explosive quality control activities including density testing and loading verification.
  • Track drilling and blasting performance metrics and maintain QA/QC databases and reporting systems.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering and Operations teams to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with testing and implementation of new blasting products, technologies, and procedures.
  • Conduct underground inspections and field reviews to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Supportpliance withpany safety standards, procedures, and applicable legislation.
  • Assist with special projects and operational improvement initiatives as required.
  • Other duties as assigned and required.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Post-secondary education in Mining Engineering, Mine Technology, Surveying, or a related field.
  • Previous underground mining experience required.
  • Experience with underground drilling and blasting activities considered a strong asset.
  • Operational underground mining experience considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Deswik, AutoCAD, or other mine planning and CAD-based software considered an asset.
  • Strongputer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellentmunication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently underground with minimal supervision.
  • Motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail andmitment to continuous improvement.
  • Physically capable of performing underground fieldwork, including walking steep grades and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid Class G driver’s license required.
  • Blasting certification or willingness to obtain certification considered an asset.
