Job descriptionMust hold a valid Security Technician Trade Qualification or be a Certified Electrician with experience installing Security or Healthcare Technologies. Must have experience working on active construction sites. Hold a valid Security Alarm Installer License or be willing to obtain one. Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Security Technologies, Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion / Burglar Alarms, RTLS, Patient Wandering Alerts, Networks, and Communication electronics. Preferred if you have knowledge in the following product lines - Lenel, Axis, Genetec, DSC, Avigilon. Experience working on hospital or healthcare construction projects with healthcare systems (Nurse call, Patient Wandering, RTLS) would be a strong asset. Strong attention to detail, and good organizational and communication skills. Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Willing to work after hours and be on call. Be an active IBEW 230 Union Member or willing to become one.
About This Role
We are recruiting for Security Systems Technicians to join our Nanaimo Service team. This position requires you to be a certified Electrician or Security System Technician. Here's how your role will strengthen our team :
Your responsibilities
- Working on various job sites to install, configure, and commission electrical Security, Access Control, and Healthcare systems, including CCTV Cameras, Video surveillance, Access Door Controls, Intrusion Detection, Nurse Call, RTLS, etc.
- Interpreting blueprints, schematics, circuit diagrams, and other construction documents to ensure correct installations in residential, commercial, and healthcare buildings.
- Responding to customer service calls, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving technical system problems.
- Working closely with customers to provide ongoing service, repairs, and programming of electrical systems. Maintaining accurate records of installs and service calls.
- Programming and integrating different electrical Security and Access Control systems.
- Training users on various products and systems (Lenel, Axis, Genetec, DSC, Avigilon).
Your Experience And Skills
Salary range : Compensation through the IBEW 230 Collective Agreement, plus great benefits and RRSP. For those hired in the Service division, a company Service Van, cell phone, and service clothing will be provided.
