Arctic Wolf is a leading cybersecurity company providing cutting-edge Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services through our innovative Security Operations Cloud. Our SaaS platform ingests and analyzes over 1.6 trillion security events weekly, protecting over 2,300 global customers.

We're seeking a Software Architect to drive developer engineering excellence and enhance our cybersecurity posture.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Software Architect to join our team and take on two critical responsibilities :

  • Establish and maintain consistent software development standards, developer practices, and technical standards and building out a senior level developer guild across multiple product lines.
  • Partner with our enterprise and cloud security groups to help define and communicate cybersecurity policies, guidelines, and best practices aligned with the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) framework for our SaaS engineering organization.

This role is pivotal in evolving our engineering maturity and ensuring our SaaS platform meets the highest standards of security and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive software development standards and best practices across our SaaS engineering organization.
  • Lead and nurture our developer guild, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and innovation.
  • Establish and oversee engineering processes that promote efficiency, quality, and security in our software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of engineering practices with business goals and customer needs.
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams in adopting and adhering to established standards and best practices.
  • Engineering Policies and CMMC Alignment

  • Collaborate to establish and communicate a set of internal cybersecurity policies, guidelines, and best practices aligned with the CMMC framework to the broader engineering organization.
  • Participate in regular assessments of our SaaS platform's security posture and recommend improvements to meet CMMC requirements.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain robust security measures across our SaaS product offerings.
  • Collaborate on System Security Plans (SSPs) or other required compliance documentation for CMMC certification.
  • Stay abreast of evolving cybersecurity threats, standards, and best practices, ensuring our policies and guidelines remain current and effective.
  • About You

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

8+ years of hands-on technical experience in software architecture, with a strong focus on cybersecurity.

Deep understanding of the CMMC framework or similar cybersecurity standards and their implementation in SaaS environments.

Extensive experience in designing and implementing secure software architectures for cloud-based platforms.

Proven track record of establishing and maintaining software development standards and best practices.

Experience in leading and nurturing developer communities or guilds.

Strong knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices, particularly in AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure environments.

Familiarity with microservices architecture, CI / CD practices, and DevSecOps principles.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

    Preferred Certifications

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
  • Certified CMMC Professional (CCP) or Certified CMMC Assessor (CCA)
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent cloud certifications
  • This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of Arctic Wolf's engineering practices and cybersecurity standards. The ideal candidate will be passionate about both technical excellence and security, with the ability to lead by example and inspire others to maintain the highest standards of quality and security in our SaaS offerings.
