    Position Overview

    The Manager, Facilities Support is responsible for supporting the operational functionality of all CMH facilities and acts as a go-to technical resource for all in-field teams. This role works with various departments demonstrating working knowledge and experience, which supports all aspects of CMH buildings and their related systems. In addition, the role calls for a thorough understanding of CMH facilities and infrastructure, supporting in-field troubleshooting, and training, while ensuring preventative and scheduled maintenance programs are met. Through extensive trade industry experience, this employee is a technical advisor for the department and company.

    Role and Essential Responsibilities

  • Work with senior leadership to build a culture that prioritizes all aspects of safety, the best possible experience for our employees and guests, recognizes our responsibility to the communities and mountain environment we are so privileged to operate in, and achieves leading financial results.
  • Help develop and implement strategic goals and objectives aligned with the overall CMH business strategy.
  • Develops and implements key performance objectives to meet business and guest expectations and optimize employee productivity in line with business growth.
  • Plans and participates in meetings with key leadership and project teams as and when necessary and provides necessary inputs for the timely completion of tasks.
  • Partner with the Area Management teams for the achievement of facility-based goals.
  • Create and implement a standard maintenance procedure across all CMH Areas.
  • Ensure all Facility Maintenance Technicians adhere to the safety policies and procedures and comply with all legislative requirements.
  • Support and provide feedback / direction to CMH Area Management and Facility Maintenance Technicians on all core facility and building systems to ensure functionality.
  • Provide on-site technical assistance to Facility Maintenance Technicians.
  • Act as a technical mentor to Facility Maintenance Technicians by providing timely feedback.
  • Assist with performance management process by collecting and sharing technical feedback with the Area Management team.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of maintenance management software and act as a subject matter expert supporting Facility Maintenance Technicians through ongoing training and troubleshooting.
  • Clearly communicate department goals and directives.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of the Capital Planning & Budget processes and provide recommendation on short- and long-term project needs.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of project management with respect to managing capital projects as assigned.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of industry regulations and ability to train Facility Maintenance Technician on related requirements.
  • Assist with all facilities-based emergency response incidents and support emergency response as outlined in the CMH Rescue Plans.
  • Manage multiple projects and effectively prioritize tasks, responsibilities, and goals; use goals to guide actions and create detailed action plans.
  • Help develop and support implementation of OHS, sustainability, and DEI initiatives.
  • Train, participate in and provide support, as required, during emergency response situations.
  • Support guests and employees in the field program during area visits, as needed.
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Trade Certificate or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Master's degree or relevant specialized training, preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Facilities Management or leadership capacity.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driver's abstract from the last 5 years.
  • Occupational First Aid Level 1.
  • Certifications considered an asset :
  • Chainsaw Operator Certification

  • Possession and Acquisition License (PAL)
  • Pool / Spa Operator Certification (CPO)
  • Industrial Safe Snowmobile Operators Certification
  • Industrial Safe UTV Operators Certification
  • Fuel Management Certification, or applicable experience
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TGD)
  • Spill Response Certification
  • Wildfire S100 Fire Suppression Certification
  • Wildfire S185 Fire Entrapment Certification
  • EOCP SWS Operators Certification
  • EOCP SWWS or BCWWA equivalent Operators Certification
  • Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Qualities

  • Experience trouble shooting engines, motors, appliances & equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of building trades.
  • Strong ability to train, coach, and lead teams with a variety of technical skill levels.
  • Demonstrates integrity, discretion, critical thinking, adaptability, and effective problem solving.
  • Positive and collaborative working style with an ability to build meaningful relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Is organized with clear attention-to-detail, with strategic planning skills and abilities.

  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and professional working relationships with peers.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, as well as an ability to learn other relevant software platforms.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and responsibilities in a complex and fast-paced environment with seasonal workload fluctuations and changing priorities.
  • Trustworthy, goal-oriented, respectful, and self-directed in completing the core functions of the role.
  • Confidence to interact with all levels of the company in a hub-and-spoke model in which many individuals are remote.
  • Working Conditions

  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position up to 30 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a regular basis.
  • This position requires you to work on evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the business.
  • This position will require frequent travel to CMH areas, as well as other business-related travel.

    Compensation

    A competitive compensation package will be provided including an attractive base salary which is based upon qualifications, experience, and skill set, as well as an annual incentive program. Further details will be discussed in a personal interview.
