Job SummaryWe’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Estimator / Project Manager. If you’re a skilled estimator tired of the big city grind and looking for a change, this might be the perfect opportunity, as we are providing a relocation package for the right candidate.We are a well-established mechanical contractor in Thunder Bay, serving the Northwestern Ontario region. We’re targeting top performers who want to continue their careers while enjoying the benefits of a smaller town, surrounded by nature and outdoor activities. ResponsibilitiesPerform quantity take-offs for plumbing, heating and mechanical equipment.Collaborate with suppliers to obtain accurate and competitive pricing.Coordinate with subtrades and general contractors to develop comprehensive bids.Initiate projects, prepare necessary documentation, and ensure smooth project kick-off.Oversee shop drawings submissions, ensuring timely and accurate approvals.Control project scope, quality, and adherence to specifications.Manage project schedules and monitor progress to ensure deadlines are met.Prepare and manage change orders as needed to address scope adjustments.Experience & QualificationsExperience with at least one estimation software in the mechanical industry ( like : McCormick, Trimble Auto bid, Fastpipe, Fastduct or similar).Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, within the mechanical contracting industry.Committed to doing great work and always looking for ways to get better at what they doPassionate about learning, research, and finding new ways to improve themselvesNo specific degree required—what matters most is a proven track record of excellence in their careerProficient in using Bluebeam, Excel, and email, with strong organizational skills to efficiently manage a large volume of documents.Strong communication skills, both direct and via email, with the ability to build relationships while delivering clear, assertive messages.Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
